Why you should care about the importance of mushrooms (and mycelium) in your Landscaping

If you’ve been with Kairos Landscaping for any length of time as a client, you know we’re all about soil health and the benefits it brings to your landscaping. We’ve been growing as a company, and hiring like-minded team members to ensure you have the best crew on your property, whether for landscaping, hardscaping, landscape lighting, pressure washing, mulching, tree installation, or whatever else you find important to your Kairos.

One element we have long been passionate about is mulch. Not only does it look aesthetically pleasing to a well kept yard, just like a belt makes for a complete look to the wardrobe, but it provides multitudes of benefits – too many for this blog post. No, the one we’re here talking about today is the benefits of mycelium and how mulch contributes to that.

What is mycelium? I’m glad you asked. Essentially, it’s the “roots” of mushrooms. Mushrooms, in the world of mycology, is what is known as a “fruiting body”, sometimes useful for human living; edibility being one major benefit.
